Mumford and Sons

Silly me, I forgot to mention
Mumford and Sons

These guys are wicked awesome and I'm in love with their CD Sigh No More.   In fact, I am currently trying to learn their song Little Lion Man on guitar.  The song is upbeat and all out AMAZING.  So, the strum pattern is definitely quick and I'm still trying my best to master it.

Little Lion Man

 As I was looking for their video on youtube, I came across this amazing girl who does a great job playing this song. Check it out.

Have a Terrific Tuesday!

What's on my iPod or iPhone rather

I love music! I enjoy all sorts of music but my main jams on my iPhone have been as follows:

Tegan and Sara

They are Ahhhmazing!  First off, they are identical twins  and second they are CANADIAN.
You may be asking, why is this awesome?!  Well, I am Canadian and an identical twin too.  Cool, eh? Anyways, they have a really unique style and you should definitely check them out. :]

Some of my favorite jams from them are:

Hell
Arrow
The Cure

Next up is HERO Jr.

Image taken from their Facebook page.. check it out ( Hero Jr Facebook )

One of my favorite bands.  For starters, the band is located in Indianapolis and is overflowing with awesome talent.  They play rock and roll type music and have been compared to the Whigs.  Plus, they are my friends and totally great guys.

The Whigs

The Whigs is an amazing band that was introduced to me by a friend!  They toured with Kings of Leona and I can't wait to see them play live at the end of this month! Also, Company of Thieves is on tour with them and they are another great band to check out.

The Black Shades

Shuweet Band.  The Black Shades played with my friends Hero Jr. and I was fortunate to get my hands on their CD.  They are pretty amazing and you should definitely check em out.

The Rural Alberta Advantage

CANUCKS.  I love my Canadians. :] These guys are pretty mellow but totally awesome.  I am definitely going to see them play live this month and I'm excited.

Music = Awesome.  New Music = Totally Awesome.

So, check em all out and tell me what you think.

Nook Book Time :]

I have finally finished the lovely book, Story of A Soul.  The book was absolutely wonderful and a great read.  St. Therese is an amazing woman and one of my favorite saints.

Now that I have finally finished this book, I can now test out my new Nook book. :] hooray!

My first book on my Nook will be Breaking Dawn, the last book in the Twilight series.  My sister and I have read all the other books and she is currently ahead of me with Breaking Dawn! So, I must catch up to her and then we can chat about all the lovely details.

My New Place

Hello! :]

So, my twin sister and I have finally moved to a new house.  We are out of our small apartment and now have our very own bedrooms.. which are connected! Therefore, if we get lonely at night.. we just open the door to make our bedrooms one room again! :]  I love my new house and I can't wait for everything to be in it's place.  I wish things would magically go where they need to but for now the place is a bit of a mess.  We have boxes everywhere, somethings unpacked, and things are scattered everywhere.  We haven't bought any groceries yet and have been eating a lot of take out.  Delicious but not so healthy.

Below is a list of our dinners for this week
  •      Chinese
  •      Pizza
  •      Subway
  •      Leftover Chinese Food
  •      Noodles (Mac n Cheese)

So, I hope we can get settled soon and started making lovely meals at home.  Well, I hope everyone has a great week.  I'm so excited for this weekend! I'm going to Baltimore for a FOCUS (Fellowship of Catholic University Students) Conference.  I hope the snow starts to clear up because we have a long drive ahead of us.

Ten Memories of 2010

Hello! :] I've been slacking a bit but I'm going to try my best to write in my blog more frequently. So, here is a blog to remember some of the wonderful memories of 2010.

{ Capstone }
In my major, Media Arts and Science, every senior has a capstone aka a huge senior project.  Luckily, my best friend was there presenting his capstone too! We were able to share a classroom and present our projects together.  :] Here is a picture of the two of us presenting our Capstone.

{ Paramore Concert }
Before my last semester of college, I went to the best concert ever! :] I went to see Paramore and fell in love with their music.  Here is a picture of my sister, friend, and I.

{ First Triathlon with the Family }
My family loves sports and in 2010 we were able to share our love of sports, by competing in a team triathlon.  So, this was perfect for us because my immediate family is my mom, my twin sister, and me! 3 girls for a Go Girl Triathlon... perfection!

{ Schuester }
Schuester was a new addition to our family in 2010.  He is a short haired dachshund aka a wiener dog.  Schuester received his unique name from the TV show Glee (one of my favorites). My sister and I have another dachshund Sascha too.  Here is a picture of the two

                                          Sascha (left) & Schuester (right)

                                        A Glee cake my sister, friend, and I made for the season finale! :]
{ Tattoo }
My mom, my sister, and I finally got tattoos in 2010.  We've been waiting to get tattoos for a long time and finally decided to get one.  We decided to get matching tattoos, Canadian Maple Leaves.  My sister and I were born in Canada and we thought it would be cute idea.  My mom is a dual citizen and we thought it would be a cute family tattoo! :]

{ Braces }
The day after my 24th birthday, my sister and I got braces.  They are suppose to improve my bite and the bonus is having beautiful straight teeth.  I have a love/hate relationship with them.

{ Reid }
I met my amazing boyfriend in the year 2010.  :]  He is truly amazing and I am truly blessed to have met him.  We started dating on October 1, 2010 and I am such a lucky girl to have an amazing guy like him.

                                                      My handsome man and I :]

{ My Good Friend's Wedding }
My good friend Jeremiah got married on sweetest day (October 16, 2010) :] to his beautiful wife Simona! I had a great time celebrating with them.

::Guitar Time::

Today, I came straight home from work and had a little guitar time. :] It was great! I usually don't play very much but today I played quite a bit. I'm currently learning a song by Rise Against called Swing Life Away. I mention a quote in my previous blog about "when words fail, music speaks". Currently, words are failing me and I'm unable to express my feelings with them. However, this song expresses the words I wish to convey quite clearly. Thanks, Rise Against! :] Here are the lyrics if you don't know the song:

"Am I loud and clear, or am I breaking up?
Am I still your charm, or am I just bad luck?
Are we getting closer, or are we just getting more lost?

I'll show you mine if you show me yours first
Let's compare scars, I'll tell you whose is worse
Let's unwrite these pages and replace them with our own words

We live on front porches and swing life away,
We get by just fine here on minimum wage
If love is a labor I'll slave till the end,
I won't cross these streets until you hold my hand

I've been here so long, I think that it's time to move
The winter's so cold, summer's over too soon
Let's pack our bags and settle down where palm trees grow

I've got some friends, some that I hardly know
But we've had some times, I wouldn't trade for the world
We chase these days down with talks of the places that we will go

We live on front porches and swing life away,
We get by just fine here on minimum wage
If love is a labor I'll slave till the end,
I won't cross these streets until you hold my hand....until you hold my hand

I'll show you mine if you show me yours first
Let's compare scars, I'll tell you whose is worse
Let's unwrite these pages and replace them with our own words

We live on front porches and swing life away,
We get by just fine here on minimum wage
If love is a labor I'll slave till the end,
I won't cross these streets until you hold my hand

Swing life away [x4]"
